I recently watched "The Long Goodbye" and it was really good. Elliott Gould as private eye Phillip Marlowe was pretty amazing, especially drunk. Some memorable lines:When this cop calls him "baby" when Marlowe's all drunk and psycho, he responds:
"You never were a baby, you son of a bitch.....skjhoijenmx;sp....you'll be sellin' bus tickets"
He also says to some woman: "Go upstairs and tweeze your eyebrows!"
I recommend watching it for the full effect. I tried to find a video which included that drunk scene (by far the best part of the movie), but it was nowhere to be found on Youtube. Here's a trailer with some good parts, but sadly lacking in drunk scene:
